THE HEALED SISTER
Just a Reminder to Hold On…
Nov 30, 2023
Salam,
It’s been a while. You might have noticed through my socials that I’ve been travelling a lot lately.
As I type these words, I can hear the waves from the beautiful beach in front of me singing a soft melody. There is a man peacefully praying on the white sand.
While watching the sunset earlier, I thought “Am I dreaming, ya Rabb?”. My life has been so incredibly fulfilling lately that I have to pinch myself daily to make sure all of this is real.
As someone who’s faced quite a lot of struggles, I used to find it hard to ground myself in the present moment and enjoy it when things would become good.
There was that constant fear that it wouldn’t last, that everything would crumble down as fast as it became easier.
Is that something that you can relate to ?
As soon as things get easy or good, do you unconsciously self-sabotage your way to chaos and drama again?
If that’s the case, I want you to know that if you become aware of your self-destructive tendencies and work on them, you too will get to a place where you embrace and welcome fulfilment.
Just like anything, happiness takes time to get used to when you were exposed to the opposite for the majority of your life.
I know that one day you’ll get to take a deep breath and think “Alhamdulillah, I’m living the life I dreamt about”.
The struggles you’re currently facing are shaping the person you need to be to create that life.
Always remember that when things get tougher.
Three years ago, I felt like giving up on everything but I pushed through and Allah has blessed me with inner peace.
I pray you get there too very soon, Ramadan is the perfect time to make heartfelt duas to make that happen faster inshaAllah.
Wishing you a blessed month of Mercy.
